SimpanChat does not collect, store remotely, or transmit any personal data. It reads the WhatsApp Web page you have open, only during an export you start, and saves the result as a file on your device. Nothing ever leaves your browser.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the SimpanChat browser extension, published by DuaLab, handles information. In short: it does not collect any data about you. Its single purpose is to export chats from WhatsApp Web, on your request, into CSV or JSON files saved on your device.
2. Data We Collect
None. SimpanChat does not collect, log, or transmit any personal or usage data to us or to anyone else. It has no accounts, no analytics, no servers, and makes no network requests of any kind.
3. Permissions We Use
The extension runs only on web.whatsapp.com; it has no access to any other website. “scripting” lets the bundled export script run in your WhatsApp Web tab to read the chats you asked to export. “storage” and “unlimitedStorage” let a long bulk export save its progress inside your browser’s local extension storage, so you can stop and resume without starting over. Everything these permissions touch stays on your device.
4. Message Content
Chat messages are read from the WhatsApp Web page you have open, only while an export you started is running. They go two places, both on your device: the exported CSV or JSON file in your downloads, and, for bulk exports, temporary progress checkpoints in the browser’s local extension storage. Checkpoints are removed when you reset the saved export or remove the extension. Nothing is uploaded, transmitted, or shared.
5. Third-Party Services
None. The extension contains no analytics, no trackers, no advertising, and no remotely hosted code. Everything that runs ships inside the reviewed package.

SimpanChat is an independent tool. It is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC. Your use of WhatsApp Web remains governed by WhatsApp’s own terms and policies.
8. Children’s Privacy
The extension collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
